Wasted Days by Nahima πŸ› EP Review

Written by Tia

In Nahima's EP Wasted Days, she takes listeners on a honey-smooth journey from one harmony to the next with her catchy vocal melodies and blended production.

Each of the three songs ("Out of Shape," "Like Me Alone," and "Try My Luck") showcases a slightly different mix of chill pop, R&B, and folk influences, which all do well to complement Nahima's light, layered vocals. While the instrumental production is lovely on all three songs, the vocal production is what really ties together the EP—which says good things for Nahima's flexibility as a vocalist, as well as her potential for growth as a new artist.

Somehow, Wasted Days feels like the perfect album for both a relaxing afternoon and a late night drive. If only there were more songs!

An Anonymous Girl πŸ™… Book Review

Written by Thelonia

A woman, a doctor, and her husband all come together in a tangled mess of a situation in Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkenan's new domestic thriller, An Anonymous Girl. The set up is intruiging, with contested loyalties, and family secrets, and messy relationships, but ultimately, the payoff just isn't there. For a thriller, a genre whose premise sort of relies on suspense, An Anonymous Girl really shows its cards very early on, and there aren't any new developments that would justify continuing to read past about the two thirds mark.

The Sims 4 Vampires 😈 Video Game Review

Written by Tia

Happy Almost-Halloween to all the simmers out there! A spooky Sims 4 expansion pack is currently on sale for $15 (usually $20). If you're asking yourself, "Should I buy The Sims 4: Vampires?", this post is for you.

Unlike some of the Sims games in the past (The Sims: Makin' Magic and The Sims 3: Supernatural), where magic-related packs meant getting lots of different creatures, this one only gives you vampires. It's sort of like The Sims 2: Nightlife, minus the nightlife additions and just the vampires. So, in a lot of ways, it disappoints. But in an odd, very Vampire Diaries-esque manner, it's also interesting and fun. I'm torn.

Ocean's 8 πŸ’ƒ Film Review

Written by Thelonia

My main takeaway from Ocean's 8 is that I will literally watch women do anything in a movie and have a blast, and also that John Mulaney must rue the day he made that "women could never pull off  an Ocean's 11 type heist" joke from 2012, at least if his twitter mentions from the past few weeks are anything to go by.

Game Night 🎲 Film Review

Written by Thelonia

Max and Annie are those people when it comes to games. Every week they host Game Night with their friends Ryan, Kevin, and Michelle. But between avoiding their overly interested and wildly deadpan neighbor Gary who keeps trying to get invited to Game Nights, and Max's much more successful brother Brooks, this Game Night promises a lot more challenges than they're prepared for.

reputation by Taylor Swift πŸ’” Songs Ranked

Taylor Swift's new album reputation has finally dropped in full today!

You can buy it on iTunes or, if you're not totally willing to buy it (at this point, at least), you can listen to it on iHeart Radio, interspersed with some of her old hits (which—can we talk about how bad of an idea this is given how good her old hits are and how... underwhelming her recently released singles have been? Anyway...).

Here are my rankings, as a (possibly former) Swiftie, of the worst to best songs on the new album:

"Take Me" by Aly & AJ πŸ”Š Music Video

Written by Tia

Aly and AJ Michalka (of Disney Channel fame) are back! This is not a drill. Three days ago, the sisters/musical duo released a new song on their YouTube channel. They've been teasing for a little while now that they would be coming back as Aly & AJ, but this is the first glimpse we've seen so far of proof.

The song, "Take Me," is good pop fun—a real "scream along down the highway" type song that promises their upcoming music will be just as good as their Into the Rush, Chemicals React, and Insomniatic albums. Listen to "Take Me" (UPDATE: and watch the new music video) below!

"Bad Liar" by Selena Gomez πŸ‘Έ Music Video Review

In the music video for Selena Gomez's supremely catchy new song, "Bad Liar," she returns to the role she plays best—acting as a high school student. And... a creepy teacher that is also her cheating (step?) father? And... her own mother? And... the gym teacher she has a crush on? It's bizarre, comedic, a touch of genuine fun, and way too short!

Watch the music video for "Bad Liar" below.
