Hocus Pocus meets Practical Magic with a bit of The Craft tossed in, The Wicked Deep is a fun, quick read that has enough twists and turns to keep you intrigued.
Centuries ago, Marguerite, Aurora, and Hazel Swan were drowned as witches by the inhabitants of the town of Sparrow. Every summer since then, the sisters return, take over the bodies of three young women from town, and drown boys as payback.
Now it's modern day, and Penny Talbot, who lives on the island off Sparrow's shore, is keeping an eye out as the summer comes along - for girls who become possessed by the sisters, and the boys who will be their victims.
It's impossible to talk about the book without revealing too much, but The Wicked Deep is a really fun read that has enough to keep you intrigued and has a strong voice and tone that's absolutely perfect for late night reads. Definitely recommend, especially if you like YA Fiction.
